Those who had not sent INPS their 2017 and 2018 income risked a deduction from their August and September 2021 pension.

August 2021 pension slip: watch out for deductions over 2017 and 2018 income not reported
In brief

  • it concerned income-linked pensions (top-up to the minimum, social increase, survivors’ pension)
  • deduction in August and September 2021: about 14 euros, or 10% of the pension
  • final deadline to send income details: 15 September 2021

INPS checked income-linked pensions, such as the top-up to the minimum pension, the social increase or the survivors’ pension. For those who, despite reminders, had not yet reported their 2017 and 2018 income, a deduction was applied in August and September 2021: about 14 euros for pensions topped up to the minimum, or 10% of the amount for higher pensions.

What the INPS letter said

The pensioners concerned were sent a registered letter giving 15 September 2021 as the last date to send the required income details and avoid the final withdrawal of the benefit for 2017 and/or 2018. Otherwise, INPS would permanently withdraw the benefits for those years and recover the amounts overpaid.

What has changed since then. Every year INPS asks pensioners with income-linked benefits to report their income (the so-called income declaration, «RED»). If you receive a letter, don’t let it expire: CCL can help you.
