- interest-free instalments over up to 10 years; the cost is fully deductible
Discounted redemption of a degree (riscatto agevolato della laurea) lets you count your years of study towards your pension, paying much less than the traditional calculation based on actual salary: about 25,000 euros for 5 years, compared with amounts that in the past could reach 80,000 euros.
What it cost in 2021
According to INPS, in 2021 the cost was 5,264.49 euros for each year of the degree. Years spent «fuori corso» (beyond the standard course length) cannot be redeemed: the cost therefore ranged from a maximum of 26,322.45 euros for a 5-year course to a minimum of 21,057.96 euros for a 4-year course.
- the amount can be paid in interest-free instalments over up to 10 years;
- the redemption cost is fully deductible from income.
Who can redeem
Anyone who has obtained a degree or equivalent qualification. People who have never worked can also do so if, at the time of applying, they have never been enrolled in a compulsory pension scheme and have not yet started working, in Italy or abroad.
What has changed since then. The amount of the discounted redemption is updated every year: to find out the current cost and whether it is worth it for you, ask CCL for a simulation.
