Electricity and gas bonus 2022: how to get it
In brief

  • bill reductions for ISEE up to 12,000 euros (20,000 euros for families with at least 4 children)
  • you need the DSU to obtain the ISEE
  • the discount is applied directly on the bill

On 22 June 2022 the Council of Ministers approved a decree-law with urgent measures to contain electricity and natural gas costs in the third quarter of 2022. The measures applied until 31 December 2022.

Who was entitled

  • families with an ISEE of 12,000 euros or less;
  • large families, with at least four dependent children, with an ISEE up to 20,000 euros;
  • recipients of the citizenship income or pension;
  • households with a person in serious health conditions or who uses life-saving electro-medical equipment.

How to apply

To obtain the bonus you had to submit the single self-declaration (DSU) for the ISEE, which can be done through the CCL CAF. The discount was applied directly on the bill; for «indirect customers» (for example those with a shared condominium gas supply) the bonus was paid by a postal transfer to be collected at a post office.

People with serious health conditions had to submit a specific application, with an ASL certificate stating the condition, the type of equipment and hours of use, the identity document and tax code of the applicant and the patient (if different people) and Form «B».

For gas, the bonus was calculated on the number of household members, the use of gas and the climate zone of the home.

What has changed since then. Today the social bonus for electricity and gas is granted automatically to those who submit the DSU and meet the ISEE requirements: getting your ISEE is therefore still the first step. Contact CCL to prepare it.
