Pensions and contributions

Pensions and contributions

Old-age pension

It is the pension due on reaching a certain age and, as a rule, with at least 20 years of contributions. After the Fornero reform the age requirement was gradually raised (today it is 67, but it is periodically adjusted to life expectancy), and for those in the purely contribution-based system there are specific rules on the minimum amount. Ask us for a simulation to find out when you can retire.

Early retirement pension

It lets you stop working before old-age retirement age, with a contribution requirement that does not depend on age and is updated periodically (it differs for men and women). There are also easier exit routes, such as the pension for early workers (lavoratori precoci), Ape sociale and other schemes that change from year to year: we help you understand which one fits your work history.

Survivors’ pension

When a pensioner or an insured worker dies, some family members are entitled to a pension: the spouse and children and, if there are none, parents and brothers and sisters who are unable to work. It protects the living needs of the family the deceased used to support.

War pension

It is granted to military personnel and civilians who, because of war, suffered wounds, injuries or illnesses with permanent loss or reduction of their working capacity. It is compensation from the State and does not include biological damage.

International pension

Those who have worked in non-EU countries with which Italy has a social security agreement can combine Italian and foreign insurance periods through international totalisation.

Combining contributions (cumulo, totalizzazione, computo)

If you have paid contributions into different schemes, you can combine them to qualify for a pension through cumulo, totalizzazione or computo. We help you choose the most convenient option.

Social allowance and Inclusion allowance

The social allowance (assegno sociale) is a benefit for Italian and foreign citizens in financial hardship, with income below the thresholds set every year. It replaced the social pension in 1996. The Pensione di cittadinanza (citizenship pension) no longer exists: elderly people in financial difficulty can apply for the Inclusion allowance.

Supplements and recalculations

A supplement is an increase in the pension, granted on application, for contributions paid after the pension start date. Recalculation (ricostituzione) allows the pension amount to be recalculated when contributions not taken into account, changes in income or other reasons provided by law emerge, within the set deadlines.

Contribution statement and pension calculation

The contribution statement (estratto conto contributivo) summarises all contributions paid to INPS, by scheme, and lets you report any errors or missing periods. The pension calculation shows you, based on age, work history and pay, how much your pension will be when you stop working.

Certificazione Unica, ObisM and other procedures

We help you obtain the Certificazione Unica (CU), the ObisM form and with any other pension and welfare procedure with INPS, former INPDAP, former ENPALS and other bodies.
