The Council of Ministers approved the new decree-law extending the Green Pass to all workplaces, valid from 15 October to 31 December 2021, the end of the state of emergency. The new rules affect the whole world of work, including those who work as family assistants (housekeepers, carers, babysitters…). Here is the guidance on the employer's obligations:
Checks to carry out: employers must verify compliance with Green Pass requirements for access to work. For family assistants, the possession and validity of the Green Pass must be checked by the employer, a family member or cohabitant, or anyone entitled to let the family assistant into the home that is also their workplace. If the employer does not carry out the check personally, they must prepare a document appointing someone to do it. The check must be carried out every time the family assistant arrives at the workplace to start work (the Green Pass can be revoked).
